Gunung Jerai, Kedah (11 Jun 2009)

Honestly, I never been been to Gunung Jerai which is just 30 minutes away from my house. So before I got embarrased by some peoples, I decided to visit this historical site. Since we do not have any experience driving up, we decided to rent a van c/w the driver, Pak Wahab (his mobile; 012 4137341, in case you need his service)

It was a great experience when you got a chance to see the whole Kedah state in 360 degree as the road encircling to the top of G.Jerai. Pak Wahab also acted as the tourist guide providing us with information about the history of G.Jerai.

Can you see how busy my wife is?..... She still can talk despite the hectic journey....

This place is called Telaga Tok Sheikh... which they claimed the person who managed to convert Kedah's first Sultan to muslim.... and the water was very cold.

I took the opportunity to "ambik berkat" by showering Shammil with it's never-stop water from the earth... We found some people reciting Quran and they've been staying there for few days.... not sure what they really up for.....

The source of the water....

According to Pak Wahab this old building was constructed during the war when Japan invaded into Kedah, since it was the perfect place to observe the location of it's enemy... but now they converted it into the organic farm.....
They should do something to preserve this pre-war building....
Almost at the Top of the Hill.

New challet under construction.

Some of the unique things and tree, you may find there.....

Some of the nice view points. Unfortunately the Muzium Perhutanan was closed that day...

On the way back, we drove to Kuala Yan looking for our lunch, but we can't find any restaurant so we drove via Coastal Road until Kuala Kedah and managed to have quite a good curry there.
