Holiday Trip to East Cost June 2009

During the 2009 mid-year school break, we got a chance to visit Terengganu & Kelantan. We departed from S/Alam about 7.00 am and reached Kuala Kemaman at 3.00pm, the place which I always wanted to visit again after my last trip 25 years ago (when Saad was attached with Perwaja in Kemaman)

We had our lunch, nasi & lauk with sata and otak2. Ehmm.. quite an expensive lunch..

Then we continue our journey to Kuala Terengganu passing Kerteh (the oil town).

Posing on the roof top of the arcade (opposite Pasar Payang), a nice view especially during sunset, but it was still a hot day despite almost 6.30pm. There are few restaurants here, but all of them started closing down the outlet and left us with not many option for dinner.

The first night, we checked-in at Mid-Town Hotel (available budget hotel). It was really in the middle of the town.. the shops are just few footsteps away.

The second day, we met Kak Chark, Yom & her family.... and we visited the well-known state museum..

And of course, the shopping of keropok lekor & kering at the nearby Kg. Losong

We also got a chance to visit our 2nd cicit, Adam (Asraf's son) at Sue's house...

On the second night, we checked-in at Permai Inn which was quite a nice hotel.. and the most important to the kids is the swimming pool, which they have been looking forward to (as if they never been to any swimming pool.. ha ha)... Anyway, their wish was granted.

After check out, we continue our journey to Kota Bharu via Coastal Road (thanks to Garmin GPS). It was a fantastic experience and we stopped by at few nice beaches with white sands....

To our surprise, we met our neighbours who also heading to Kota Bharu while having these 'all-fried' fish, sotong, prawn. No nasi this time...

Sofea was having a cool fresh air....

Since we already booked this chalet, we have no choice but to spend our night there, despite changing the room, the conditions was still not up to our expectation (not as pictured in the website). To make thing worse, Shammil suddenly got fever. Next time, I may consider to stay in KB town......

The journey from Kota Bharu to Alor Setar via Lebuhraya Timur Barat until Baling was the most tiring one.... with bumpy & damaged road and it took more than 6 hours.....
We stopped by for lunch at one place (mini R&R) facing the Banjaran Titiwangsa as I want to show this place to my kids for their Geography knowledge...

And..... finally I reached my mom house, then suddenly my tiredness gone..
